Happy Thursday, friends!

I don’t know about you but it’s hard for me to believe we’re already halfway through April!

I was deleting old shows from my PVR last night, and there were still Christmas movies saved in there! I swear, it still feels like it was last month.

I feel with new seasons comes a wave of inspiration. Whether that’s inspiration to travel, to clean or organize — I always get inspired when a new season is here.

I keep a pretty clean and organized home already. It’s in my nature to be tidy, and I actually enjoy organizing… with the exception of my PVR apparently (LOL). I like when things have a home and a place.

I’m sure many of us will be hosting some kind of Easter gathering this long-weekend, so I have compiled a list of FIVE EASY STEPS to get you started on your Kitchen clean!

Many thanks to A Bowl Full of Lemons for the inspiration for this Blog post! She is a QUEEN when it comes to organizing.

1. Plan

Figure out a Plan of Attack.  Do you have enough time to do the entire Kitchen including the Pantry? Refrigerator?

I advise to start with Simple: Clean out and organize all cabinets and drawers.

2. Setup

Take everything out of your cabinets and drawers and place items by categories on the island or table so you can view everything at once, #KonMari style.

With everything removed from the cabinets, shelves and drawers, wipe these down. If you have drawer organizers or baskets, give these a wipe too and place them back.

3. Purge + Recycle

Discard old, expired or no longer used or useful items (including food). Please remember to Recycle where possible!  If you can reuse something such as a container or jar, please do so.

4. Clean + Shine

Take everything off the Kitchen countertops and wipe these down, along with the backsplash.

If your cooktop could use a deep clean, get this started too, then wipe down all small (and large) appliances. I would also deep clean my Dishwasher during this time — I swear by this Finish Dishwasher Cleaner!!!

5. Put Away

Put items back in their drawers and cabinets.

Put items back on the countertops that you use on a DAILY BASIS ONLY. For instance, if you don’t use a toaster everyday and have the room, store it and bask in the extra counter space!

Wipe down and shine anything remaining (ie. cabinet hardware, hood fan, sink faucets etc).

What To Use:

I try to choose natural or plant-based cleaners where possible. Some great options are the Honest Company, Method, Mrs. Meyers and Greenworks!

Click below to see some of my favourites! They’re natural and smell great!

  1. Greenworks All Purpose Cleaner — I put this in a spray bottle!
  2. Mrs. Meyers Liquid Hand Soap
  3. Mrs. Meyer Clean Day Cream Cleaner — Great for cooktops!
  4. Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Dish Packs
  5. Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Cleaner
  6. Greenworks Compostable Cleaning Wipes — LOVE that these are biodegradable
  7. Mrs. Meyers Soy Geranium Candle — SMELLS AMAZING!!
  8. Method Daily Granite CleanerAnother plant-based must have in Our house

Doesn’t that just feel amazing?!  If you’re feeling super ambitious, tackle your refrigerator and pantry with the same method.

If you’re in a climate that allows, break open those windows and let some fresh air in too!

Happy cleaning and happy entertaining!
